I’ve been really sick recently. I don’t know whether it’s because of my health condition or it’s the stress that’s causing it. I’ve been confined at the hospital twice this year and I have a feeling I have to go back for the 3rd time soon. Sometimes I feel sorry for my parents for having to pay my hospital bills. It’s a good thing I have insurance. *whew*
Anyway, a Korean friend came back after a month-long vacation in Korea. When I heard the news, I decided to ask him to buy things for me and for my friends as well. And he agreed to buy and bring everything in exchange for isaw (chicken intestines). When he first had a taste of isaw, he didn’t quite like it but eventually, he just started to like it. And also balut. Ew. I’m Filipino but I am ashamed to say that I don’t like it.
He arrived last Sunday. I had to wake up early to fetch him at the airport and the first thing he said to me is “mapaso” which means hot in our dialect. Well, it’s summer and he was wearing a long-sleeved sweatshirt so what does he expect? Haha! He didn’t get any sleep because he arrived in Manila around 11PM and he waited at the airport for his 6AM flight to our city. Instead of sleeping, he decided to go out with me and our friends, who didn’t know about his return and were surprised to see him. We tried to look for a place where we could cool off because it was so hot. My shirt was soaked with sweat that day.
The next day, he gave me all the things I asked him to buy. Some of the items aren’t mine, especially the kpop albums. I have stopped collecting albums two years ago and I only buy concert DVDs of my favorite groups now.
Obviously, these books aren’t mine. I already have all the books in this series. (I bought the beginning and intermediate books and I got the advanced book as a gift from my former boss) Whenever someone asks me for Korean textbook recommendation, Korean Grammar in Use is what I always tell them to buy because I personally like them. Thick book loaded with lots of useful information.
These EXO albums aren’t mine. I’m not really a fan. I’m sorry. Not a hater tho. I just like a couple of their songs and that’s about it. SM Entertainment is really trying hard to rob fangirls of their money. The Exodus album have 10 different covers and there’s a Korean version and a Chinese version so there’s 20 different covers to collect. That’s just absurd if you ask me but hey, it’s their strategy to sell more copies.
These socks are really cute. And the quality is so good, I don’t even wanna wear them. The BTS socks aren’t mine. I don’t even know BTS. Lol. I don’t know why I bought these. I don’t even use socks coz I don’t wear sneakers but they’re cute and cheap and I might use them one of these days when it’s cold.
I love this handcream. It’s very cheap. What I like most about it is it doesn’t have that sticky feeling and doesn’t smell bad. I actually like its scent, very subtle and not overwhelming. I think this will last me for 6 months or so. A pea size of this hand cream is enough to cover my hands.
This is for my friend. I wish I got one for myself too. It looks so pretty and I read in reviews that this is long lasting and doesn’t stain. I have to get myself one of these next time.
I kinda noticed that cushion is the trend in cosmetics right now.
This gave me a shock. I was expecting it to be bigger but when I saw it in real life, it’s so… small. Smaller than my palm.
When I was in Manila, I saw aloe vera soothing gel at Nature Republic. I wanted to buy one but it was kinda expensive. So I looked for a cheaper one. 3W Clinic and Foodaholic sells aloe vera soothing gel but I went with the Foodaholic one because it’s cheaper and I just wanted to try it out.
I’ve been using this for a couple of days now. Prior to using it, I had a few pimples on my left cheek and when I applied this the first time, the pimples dried up by the time I check the mirror the following day. It’s so good and dries up fast when applied to your face.
This is selling like hotcakes and I wanted to see what the fuzz is all about. I used it a couple of times and I love it. The powder is very fine and it feels so light when applied. It doesn’t feel like I have powder on. It doesn’t cake as well. I tried putting on lots of layers to see if it does and nope. I didn’t end up looking cakey. The only thing I don’t like about this is the packaging. The packaging made it look so cheap. And it does a good job on controlling my oiliness on the nose area. I’m not sure if this promises to control oil but it does for me. It’s great for days when I don’t feel like putting make up on but don’t wanna go out with a bare face either.
That’s it for my haul. I will try my best to post reviews but I can’t promise anything because I am swamped with work nowadays. If you like any of the items featured in this post, I can help you get them. I have recently opened my online shop but I only cater to Philippine buyers. Please check it out –> @beautywithaseoul
