오랜만이에요!

여러분, 오랜만이죠? 잘 지냈어요? I’ve been away from blogging for more than a month so I’d feel more comfortable if I blog about what I’ve been doing while I was gone. Aside from studying 한국어, I’ve been frequenting the hospital for almost 3 weeks now. Unfortunately, I got sick and I need to take medication for 6 months. But at least the government is going provide all the medicines I need for free. Okay, enough of that. Moving on to the main topic…

Finally!

I finally saved up enough money to buy some Korean textbooks. I ordered 연세 한국어 1 from Seoul Selection. I highly recommend Seoul Selection. They have a lot of Korean textbooks for sale as well as other books only sold in Korea. Whenever I send them some questions about a certain product, they always send me a reply in less than 24 hours, sometimes almost instantaneously. Pretty impressive. The book arrived at our city post office on September 16th but I only got to pick it up on the 19th. I was scared they’d make me pay for added tax but they didn’t. I only had to pay P40 for the storage fee.

They marked it as a gift so I wouldn’t have to pay taxes. ㅋㅋㅋ

I also ordered Integrated Korean 1 and 2 (2nd Edition) from Amazon. I asked my Uncle if it was okay to have my books delivered to my Aunt’s house in the US since shipping is free anywhere within the US territory. The books arrived at my aunt’s house two days after I ordered them. ^__^ She even almost returned them because she didn’t know it was mine. XD I’m not sure when I’ll get it. T_T She said she’ll be sending it to me together with some other stuff via balikbayan box which takes around a month before it reaches our house. But at least I save myself from paying a whooping $30+ of shipping fee. XD I hope it arrives soon!

To test my Korean skills, I’ve been trying to practice writing in Korean. I made a lang-8 account several months ago but just recently, I finally had the guts to post something there. I also posted a comment on TTMIK’s Self Introduction lesson and I’m glad I only made two mistakes.

Here’s a short paragraph I’ve written in Korean to introduce myself. 실수 있으면 교정해 주세요.

안녕하세요 여러분. 제 이름은 Angeli(안젤리)예요.

I don’t know if I did a good job but yeah, if you find any mistakes, please tell me. ^__^

*pronounced like 바이안리 but if it’s translated to Korean, it’s 백안리. I have a Chinese name because I studied a Chinese dialect when I was in high school.

This is my Korean handwriting. What do you think? Ugly, isn’t it?

업데이트 읽어 주셔서 고마워요. 다음에 다시 얘기 할게요. Excuse my fail Korean. I still have a lot of things to learn. T_T

  1. What happened to your arm?

Oh, you removed the book from the plastic wrapper. Did you also remove the cds? I don't wanna ruin the book so it's still intact.

    Take care 동생!

  2. Hello!

The book costs ₩30,000($28.44/P1148.79) and the shipping fee (via EMS) from Korea to the Philippines is ₩24,640($23.36/P943.54). I paid using my Unionbank debit card.

  3. Yonsei book level 3 and 4 look better than the Yonsei level 1. I don’t think I can learn much from level 1 >”< I just flip through yonsei level 1 in one night. The book was so heavy and had too many chapters which made me tired. However, yonsei level 3 or 4 are awesome ^^

    1. I hate that it’s too heavy. I can’t take it with me when I feel like studying at a coffee shop or something. XD And it’s also very expensive. T^T

    1. 안녕하세요 Angelica씨! 반가워요! 무슨 말인지 좀… 이해 안돼요… So you’re in the Philippines but you want to live in US to study Korean? Is that what you’re trying to say?
